K-8 & Special Needs Tutoring

I’ve tried a couple tutors in the Lakeside / east county area, but nothing like The Alpine Tutor! My son has an IEP and was really struggling with reading. Mrs. C is a retired teacher from Lakeview with special needs certification, so needless to say she knows what she’s doing. If you’ve had a bad tutoring experience, trust me, Mrs. C is a godsend. We’ve been using her for a little over a year, and the progress she’s made with my son is honestly beyond my expectation. She’s great with him, tailors his sessions to his needs and even does zoom calls when we need to. Two of our daughters have been working with Vickee for the past two years. We have seen a measured and dramatic rise in their grades and credit the tutoring with much of that. Their work is done in fun and pleasant way that makes it easier for us as parents to get them to do homework. Most recently, Vickee challenged them to a contest where they could earn “rewards” for completing their words. They are knocking themselves out to meet the requirements and don’t even realize they are learning at the same time. I am unsure how my wife and I could be more grateful that we found Vickee. We can’t say enough wonderful things about Mrs. C!! Our daughter has been working with her over the last 3 years since 6th grade and she looks forward to going every week. Mrs. C is able to give her dedicated personal attention to help her through a complex math problem or provide constructive criticism on an essay. She is very patient and knows how to encourage children in a way that is non-judgemental.
